God doesn’t take people to heaven or assign lifespans. Death is natural. Christian hope lies in reunion, memory, and the soul’s journey into God’s embrace. Death is not God’s punishment but part of being human. Our souls, carried by memory and love, continue. Christian faith reminds us: goodbyes are never final.
What do I think happens to us after we die? What would I hope for?
God of life, you do not take our loved ones to fill a need— you are complete love, not lacking. You made us to live, to love, and to be remembered. Even in death, our souls carry the story of who we are.
Hold us in your mercy, until we meet again in the light of resurrection. Amen.
