I completed a full circle from loving traditional art, to a years-long foray into modern/contemporary, and back again to a passionate love for classic beauty. What happened? Looking back, I believe our tastes are connected to where we are at in our lives--as we grow up and get more “educated” and life happens, the instinctive draw towards the true, good, and beautiful begins to be covered over. What happened to me is a microcosm for what's happened to our collective art tastes, and in completing the circle, I see that the only way out is by a reconnection to Christ, the true light who allows us to perceive, not merely 'see.'
