Natural disasters are not God's punishment. Prayer should transform us and the world, not manipulate a divine force. We don’t worship Zeus—we worship Jesus Christ. We often misunderstand prayer and project our fears onto God. True Christian prayer invites us to change ourselves and reflect God's love and justice in a broken world.
How do I think Christian prayer works? What am I expecting from my prayer?
Dear God, in times of drought and hardship, we bring our needs before You, trusting in Your unchanging love and compassion. Help us to pray with hearts open to change, not for You to change, but for us to reflect Your loving face in our world. Guide us to be faithful stewards of Your creation, and may our prayers always seek to transform us, drawing us closer to Your will. Amen.
