November is the month of the Holy Souls. You can obtain special indulgences for souls in Purgatory! Please take advantage of this opportunity, as the poor souls are suffering and will be eternally grateful to you for your help, and will repay your kindness with their own prayers for you, and will come to your aid at the time of your death:
From Nov. 1-8, you can help release a soul from Purgatory each day by doing the following:
Visit a cemetery and offer prayers for departed souls. These can include the Divine Mercy chaplet, the "Eternal Rest" prayer, Psalm 51 or other prayers. Also offer prayers for the pope (an Our Father and Hail Mary may suffice).
On All Soul's Day (Nov. 2), you also have the option of visiting a church and praying the Our Father and the Creed.
Go to confession within 20 days (before or after) of your visit to the cemetery or church.
Receive Holy Communion on the day of your visit.
Have no attachment to sin. If any attachment remains, it will be a partial rather than a plenary indulgence.
